Week 26

Science:

Monday students will partake in a rates of weather lab with sugar cubes.

Tuesday students will watch a short video on weathering and erosion and complete a video handout. Following, we will begin part 1 of our soil composition lab.

Wednesday we will finish the soil composition lab and discuss. The rest of the period will be spent conducting research for the soil conservation posters students will be creating in groups.

Thursday students will create their soil conservation posters during the first half of the class period. We will spend the remainder of class discussing shoreline erosion and features. Test study guides will go home on Thursday as well.

Friday students will partake the in the shoreline erosion lab.

Social Studies:

Monday is the chapter 11 quiz! We will spend the remainder of the class period discussing how democracy was forever shaped by the presidential administration of Andrew Jackson. Students will receive the chapter 12 section 1 review handout for homework.

Tuesday we will discuss Andrew Jackson's attitude toward the Native Americans and the Indian Removal Act of 1830. Students will watch two short videos on the topic. Unit 7 test study guides will also go home Tuesday.

Wednesday students will complete the chapter 12 section 2 handout in class for homework. We will also discuss section 3.

Thursday we will review chapters 11 and 12 in preparation of the unit 7 test. Students will receive class time to work on their study guides and ask questions.

Friday is test day!
