Week 15

Science:

Monday students will participate in the acids/bases lab. Students will have the opportunity to test the pH of several substances using litmus paper.

Tuesday students will be taking the chapter 5/6 test and receiving their new textbook -- astronomy.

Wednesday we will kick off our astronomy unit by watching the Bill Nye on space exploration. Students will complete a handout over the video. Chapter 1 Lesson 1 text questions for homework.

Thursday we will discuss lesson 1 and then complete the Adopt-a-Constellation activity.

Friday students will be building star wheels and then creating constellations on the classroom ceiling. Chapter 1 Lesson 2 text questions for homework.

Social Studies:

Monday we will finish our study of chapter 7 by discussing section 4 and then reviewing for the chapter 7 test.

Tuesday students will take the unit 4 test and then watch Channel One News.

Wednesday I will be out of the classroom. Students will be watching a short film discussing the end of the American Revolution and beginning of a new country.

Thursday students will receive their graded tests back and we will begin to look at chapter 8 section 1 and discuss the significance of Shay's Rebellion.

Friday students will watch a History Channel special, 10 Day's that Changed America, which focuses on Shay's Rebellion.
