Short week -- field trip on Tuesday and no school for students on Friday!
Science:
Monday students will be working on the chapter 1 lesson 2 text questions in class. We will discuss lesson 2 and then black out the room for demonstration on Earth's seasons.
Tuesday we are taking a field trip to McGregor Elementary School to read with 3rd grade students and then going to Springfield Little Theater to watch "A Christmas Story".
Wednesday we will discuss chapter 1 lesson 3 together and complete the text questions as a class. Students will then have the remainder of the class period to complete the chapter 1 lesson 4 text questions. Chapter 1 Study Guide will go be distributed as well.
Thursday we will discuss chapter 1 lesson 4 (moon phases) and we will again darken the room and conduct a demonstration -- this time on the moon phases. If time allows, we will watch a BrainPop on the moon phases.
Friday - No school for students
Social Studies:
Monday we will begin chapter 8. The plan was to start our study of chapter 8 the week prior, but instead students participated in a document-based question activity that took a few days. Thus, on Monday we will discuss chapter 8 section 1 and students will receive the section 1 handout to complete in class.

Wednesday students will watch a short film on Shay's Rebellion that is part of the 10 Days that Changed America series.
Thursday we will discuss section 2 and students will work on the section 2 review in class.
