Science:
Monday we will begin our discussion of the moon landing conspiracy and students will watch a short film discussing conspiracy theorists arguments.
Tuesday students will watch a Mythbusters episode in which several of the moon landing conspiracy theory arguments are put to the test using the scientific method. We will discuss the importance of science in proving "theories" correct or incorrect and using the scientific method as a tool.
Wednesday students will write a short essay explaining the the moon land conspiracy and how science has proven all conspiracy arguments false.
Thursday we will do something fun since it's the final day before winter break -- students will be watching a Mythbusters in which Jamie and Adam use the scientific method to test and see if Christmas tree lights can really produce enough heat to start a fire.
Social Studies:
Monday students will take the Preamble/Article I quiz that was originally scheduled for the prior Friday. Students will receive the Article IV, V, VI, & VII Guided Reading handout to complete.
Tuesday students will take a quiz on Article II and we will spend the rest of the hour watching Channel One and discussing current events.
Wednesday students have a short quiz on the requirements of elected officials (representative, senator, president, and Supreme Court justice). We will spend the remainder of the class period by beginning our study of the constitutional amendments.
Thursday afternoon the Grizzly team is having a celebration with students before going on winter break. Students will be watching a holiday movie in one of the three Grizzly teachers' classrooms.
