Week 17

Science:

Monday it's moon phases with Oreos. Students will create the different moon phases using Oreo cookies.

Tuesday we will discuss chapter 1 lesson 6 and review for the astronomy chapter 1 test.

Wednesday is test day. Students will be assigned the chapter 2 lesson 1 text questions -- homework if not finished.

Thursday we will discuss the different types of space rockets and how they work.

Friday students will receive their graded tests and we will discuss commonly missed questions. We we will also begin our discussion of space exploration and if time allows, begin our film on the moon landing conspiracy.

Social Studies:

Monday we will be discussing the ratification of the U.S. Constitution and students will work on the chapter 8 section 3 handout in class.

Tuesday students will watch a BrainPop on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. A handout will accompany both. We will discuss the short films and then watch Channel One News.

Wednesday students will receive a copy of the U.S. Constitution and we will review the events that led to the creation of the Constitution, including the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. Students will be completing notes on the Preamble and Article I.

Thursday students will complete a graphic organizer on Article I - the Legislative Branch as well as a guided reading handout with the use of additional resources provided by the teacher.

Friday our attention turns to Articles II & III and students will taking a QUIZ on the Preamble and Article I.
