Week 36

Science:

Monday most students will be absent from school on the Silver Dollar City field trip for band/choir/orchestra.  For the students that will be at school we will watch a Mythbusters and discuss the use of the cast's use of the scientific method.

Tuesday we will discuss chapter 5 lesson 1 to introduce volcanoes.  Students will complete a handout in class.

Wednesday students will be learning about volcanic eruptions.  We will complete the text questions together as a class.

Thursday focus turns to volcanic landforms.  Student will complete a handout labeling the different parts of a volcano in class.

Friday students will watch a Bill Nye episode on volcanoes and complete the corresponding video handout.

Social Studies:

Monday Monday most students will be absent from school on the Silver Dollar City field trip for band/choir/orchestra.  For the students that will be at school we will be going outside for some free time after returning from our Sonic field trip.

Tuesday we will discuss chapter 17 section 3.  Students will be learning about the conclusion of the Civil War and the Battle of Gettysburg.  We will also watch a short film on the Battle of Vickburg.

Wednesday students will be learning about the legacy of the Civil War.  We will be discussing the losses and costs of the war and analyzing how the war transformed the nation forever.

Thursday students will be in the computer lab taking the End of Course District Exam.  Following we will review for the chapter 17 test.

Friday is test day!
