Week 7:

Science:

Monday we will begin with what we had intended to finish with Friday and ran out of time -- metric conversions. We will also be looking at density some more through two different density demonstrations. Students will have the chapter 1 lesson 4 text questions for homework.

Tuesday we will discuss the chapter 1 lesson 4 text questions and complete the physical/chemical changes graphic organizer. Students will receive the lesson 4 review for homework.

Wednesday students will be participating in the Metric Olympics. Students will have the opportunity to practice several metric measurements. Look for the chemistry chapter 1 test study guide to come home.

Thursday students will be taking the Explore Test. Information on the Explore was sent home with students 2 weeks ago. This is the first of many steps towards preparing students for their high school journey.

Friday we will wrap up the Metric Olympics.

Social Studies:

Monday students will be learning about the Backcountry -- the unsettled wilderness of early America. Students will receive the section 4 review as homework.

Tuesday we will grade the section 4 review together and discuss the first half of chapter 5 section 1.

Wednesday students will be in the library researching an early American tool of their choice from the time period we are studying in class.

Thursday students will be taking the Explore Test. Information on the Explore was sent home with students 2 weeks ago. This is the first of many steps towards preparing students for their high school journey.

Friday students will be creating posters outlining key information about their early American tool. We will also be finishing our section 1 discussion.
