Science:
Monday we will be outside drawing the solar system to scale with sidewalk chalk. The plan was to do this last week, but the weather looks much warmer this week.
Tuesday students will complete the "Solar System on a Map" handout in class that was also scheduled for the prior week, but we failed to have time to do.
Wednesday we will be looking at chapter 3 lesson 4 and completing the text questions. The lesson 5 text questions will be assigned for homework.
Thursday the focus will be on planet sizes. Students will be working with Play-Dough to create the different planet sizes.
Friday we will discuss the key points of chapter 3 lesson 5.
Social Studies:
Monday we will be discussing chapter 9 section 2 and students will watch a very short film on the Treaty of Greenville and the Whiskey Rebellion
Tuesday our attention turns to section 3 and the XYZ Affair and the Alien and Sedition Acts. Students will receive the section 3 handout for homework.
Wednesday we will be studying about the life and accomplishments of Thomas Jefferson.
Thursday we will be discussing Thomas Jefferson's Louisiana Purchase and the following explorations of Lewis and Clark.
Friday students will watch a film on Lewis and Clark and learning how science is being used to uncover many of mysteries surrounding their journey.
